Towel Fabric Types: Harley, Emma, Vera and Fiona

Yorka Textile’s towel fabric family consists of four qualities. All four are suitable for sublimation printing. The difference between them lies in the surface structure and in how the print looks on that surface.

Harley: versatile velour face

Harley has a velour face woven from quality microfiber yarn, with a soft velvet handle. The pile is short, so no detail is lost in printing. It is highly absorbent, dries easily and does not fade in sunlight or chlorinated water. It is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1. A versatile fabric suited to beach, pool, sports and hotel use alike.

Emma: for dark, solid backgrounds

Emma is a quality developed to achieve a cleaner result in sublimation printing. The white specks that appear in the background of velour towels after printing do not appear on Emma. It shows its difference especially on dark, solid coloured designs. With its soft handle and high absorbency it is chosen for premium work. Certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1.

Vera: microfiber suede for sports and fitness

Vera is a 100% microfiber suede fabric. Both sides are the same, with a suede look on each face. It absorbs water as well as cotton, dries quickly, stays odour free when left damp and is around 40% lighter than cotton towelling. Certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1. It is the standard fabric for sports and fitness towel production.

Fiona: the economical quality

Fiona is produced from 100% microfiber polyester. The face is smooth brushed and the back is looped. It is produced at 250 gsm. It is a more economical option than the other qualities and is chosen where cost is the deciding factor.

Fabric or finished printed product?

We work in two different ways and it is important to separate them.

If you buy fabric, it arrives ready for sublimation printing or plain dyed, and you apply the design in your own print facility. If you prefer a finished printed product, we do the sublimation printing and deliver the product ready.

How to choose the right fabric

If your design is dark and solid, choose Emma; if the product is a sports towel, Vera; if you want to build a wide range from beach to hotel with a single fabric, Harley; and if cost is the deciding factor, Fiona.
